The new improved PSS199 sensor, when used with the powerful magnets supplied, will provide a speed pulse signal on vehicles where locating a reliable signal is difficult. The working distance is now between ½” and ¾” which is a 300% improvement on the previous model.

Fitting Instructions

Fitting Instructions

First, select a position on the prop/drive shaft which is not going to move relative to the chassis.  Clean the shaft of all grease and oil and secure some insulation tape around the complete circumference, two layers should be sufficient.  This is to give a good grip to the metal tywraps which hold the magnet carriers.

The unit is supplied with four magnets which must be evenly spaced around the shaft.  If the shaft is too small to accept four magnets, then use only two but, again, they must be equally spaced.

The new sensor head has a shiny side complete with label and a small ring marking. This is the side that faces the magnet and the ring marking must line up with the magnets.

The sensor head can be fixed via two small screws to a piece of flat metal forming the fixing bracket (not supplied).
